CPE Exam Preparation Course

The Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) is the most advanced exam for learners who have achieved an advanced level in English. It is set at Level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFL). It is essential for studying demanding subjects at the highest levels, including postgraduate and PhD programmes or international business negotiation. By passing the CPE Exam, you show that you have the level of an educated native speaker. During the exam, you will be evaluated on the following skills:

• Reading: shows you can deal confidently with different types of text (such as fiction and non-fiction books, journals, newspapers and manuals)
• Writing: requires you to be able to write a variety of items, such as essays, proposals, reports and reviews.
• Use of English: tests your ability to use the right words, tenses and idioms in the right situation.
• Listening: requires you to be able to follow and understand a range of spoken materials, such as lectures, speeches and interviews.
• Speaking: tests your ability to communicate effectively in face-to-face situations.

The CPE exam preparation courses in Edinburgh provide exam strategy training to increase your chances of performing well in the exam. The full day course also offers an opportunity to improve your general English skills.

Evening CPE Preparation Course

The Evening CPE Exam Preparation courses last for 8 weeks and offer group sessions two evenings a week from 18.30 – 20.00. Our group courses have a maximum of 8 students. This course specialises in exam strategy training and past paper practice tests. Our experienced teachers will give you tactics how to successfully tackle the CPE Exam.
