Social Activities and Daily Routine
At inlingua Edinburgh, we create a positive, vibrant and enriching learning atmosphere with a schedule combining both intensive teaching blocks and time to enjoy your stay in Scotland. We also organise regular social activities for you to meet new people, have fun and practice your English!
Teaching Schedule
- 9.45 - 11.15: First teaching block
- 11.15 - 11.30: Coffee / Tea break
- 11.30 - 13.00: Second teaching block
- 13.00 - 14.30: Lunch break
- 14.30 - 16.00: Third teaching block
- 16.00 - 16.15: Coffee/Tea break
- 16.150 - 17.45: Last teaching block
inlingua Edinburgh offers several ways to study English in Edinburgh. The number of teaching blocks depends on the weekly booked lessons. You may finish at 13.00 if you are on a half-day or at a different time if you have private or group lessons in the afternoon (full day group, combi or exam preparation courses).
First Day Schedule
On the first day, you must arrive at 9.15. You will be welcomed and receive an introduction to the school, the teachers and the other students. You will then be able to have a private discussion with our Director of Studies about your specific language and lesson needs.You will also have a conversation to make sure your English lessons run smoothly. Lessons will then start afterwards. In the evening there will be a welcome drink with one of our teachers for all newly-arrived students.
Social Activities
Weekly Activities
- Monday: Welcome drink for new students
- Wednesday: Traditional folk music evening in a pub (with a teacher and students)
- Thursday: games night at the school or different activities depending on time of year, weather and level of interest of students.
Other Activities
- Tours to different parts of Scotland: one full day excursion is part of every course of two weeks or more
- Whisky tastings at our school
- Drama night on Wednesday night for long-term students
- During the Fringe Festival, the school becomes a Fringe venue, hosting two music concerts and two theatre productions.
