inlingua Edinburgh was opened in 2005 by Centre Director, Roland Becker. Originally from Frankfurt, Germany, Roland came to Edinburgh for 6 months in 1994 to further his career in the travel industry. 18 years later, he’s still here! Following 5 years as Manager of the Individual Tours Department at Travel Scotland, he moved to be Centre Director at a leading language school in the city. In 2005 he fulfilled his dream of opening his own centre and inlingua Edinburgh was born!
Many of our team have worked together for some years. All of us share a common philosophy that students should be happy and relaxed while studying. Individual attention and personal service are of prime importance to us. We help you find accommodation and with your travel arrangements, while you are in Scotland. We have social evenings which can include table games, 5-a-side football, theatre group, traditional music and visits to a café or pub. At weekends in the summer we run tours around Scotland, accompanied by a teacher to guide, offer information and ensure English is always spoken.
