Last Saturday, we hosted our very first Languages and Culture Open Day to celebrate Edinburgh’s diverse cultures and promote language learning in the city.

Visitors to the event were welcomed at our language centre and offered a selection of food and drinks from around the world, from Turkish apple tea to Japanese sushi. We had live music in the student lounge and the library was transformed into a photo booth where visitors could accessorize with language-themed props before having their picture taken. Mini lessons were also given by our teachers in 8 different languages, including Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Swedish. The event was a great success and we were delighted to meet Edinburgh’s Consulate General of Japan, Hajime Kitaoka and Vice-Consul of Russia, Timofey Kunitskiy who came to visit us on the day. You can see all the pictures from the event and our photo booth here:
