TradFest is a festival inspired by the traditional arts of Scotland. Expect music, song, storytelling, dance and crafts with a contemporary spin. It’s a great way to welcome in the Summer alongside other seasonal events such as Beltane and May Day.
A packed and lively programme of over 95 events takes place during Edinburgh’s annual showcase of Traditional Arts and Culture, TradFest, which fills Scotland’s capital with music, song, film, traditional arts and stories. Performers from Italy, Norway, Sweden, the USA and Ireland join top Scottish talent to create a vibrant and exciting 12 day festival. The festival takes place across 25 Edinburgh venues including The Pleasance, The Queens Hall, The Storytelling Centre and The Filmhouse.
The 2015 line-up features Malinky, The Tannahill Weavers, Nuala Kennedy, Southern Tenant Folk Union, Rozi Plain, The Shee, Dean Owens and the Whisky Hearts, Dick Gaughan, Salt House, Colum Sands, Breabach, Cruinn, Dallahan, Huradal, Kim Edgar, Mairi Campbell, Emily Smith, Robyn Stapleton, Transgressive North and Swedish Trio Väsen.
