Today’s students are born into a digital world. Take advantage of the new technology used by your students to make your classes more innovative and stimulating! This course has been designed for newcomers to technology in the classroom.

The course consists of two main components plus an extensive Scottish culture programme:

The morning methodology sessions will focus on the use of technology in the classroom. You will look at the use of applications, smart devices and web resources in order to create innovative activities and acquire new language and knowledge. Every day you will explore digital resources in practical workshops, helping you to enhance your ICT Skills. During the programme, you will examine the pros and cons of using ICT in language education; discover tools to create innovative content; learn how to collaborate and brainstorm both inside and outside the classroom; experiment with augmented reality quizzes; create and edit interactive video clips and other digital content; familiarise yourself with the use of smartphones, tablets, streaming digital players and computers in the classroom.

The English language component focuses on speaking and listening skills during the afternoon sessions. You will expand your vocabulary, develop your grammar and improve your fluency through discussions on a variety of topics with your classmates from the EU and beyond.

The social programme includes a number of activities and visits to give you an introduction to the culture of Scotland. Activities include a walking tour of Edinburgh with a guide, a ceilidh (traditional Scottish dancing), whisky tasting, and excursions to historical landmarks and places of cultural interest, such as museums and art galleries. Please note that the selection of activities varies depending on the time of year.
